As the team enters week four, working in two trenches at the southwest corner and northern side of the Horrea Agrippiana, rich stratigraphy has started to emerge. The students and other volunteers have been heroic, working in record high temperatures from early morning until the hottest hours of the afternoon each day. With just two more weeks to go this season there is no time to waste.
We have been pleased to welcome a few visitors, both colleagues from the archaeological community and ISAR supporters and benefactors. Paolo Carrafa and Carrandini’s team took a break from excavating on the Via Sacra to visit our site last week. Contributors to our crowdfunding campaign are always welcome to drop in and see the progress; some have even offered to help out.
