Borgo Abruzzo moves forward

Several recent events have drawn local and international attention to ISAR’s Borgo Abruzzo Project.

On 20 April 2021 an online meeting was held with local authorities and residents with the purpose of disseminating information about the project, in Italian, to people who may have heard about ISAR but were unsure of our aims. This was a great chance to hear from the people who will benefit most as the project for the Study Center in Castelvecchio Calvisio starts to take root.

Then on April 26 ISAR’s Tom Rankin participated, with architect Francesca Ronco of the Politecnico di Torino, in presenting Borgo Abruzzo and the work of last year’s summer school in the international symposium in Istanbul organized by the AACCP. (ISAR was also present in the Rome Session on April 28th).

Applications for this year’s International Summer School in Architecture in Abruzzo are in and we have an excellent enrollment, both onsite and online. So hopefully this will help make the long-awaited project a reality.
